If you want to grow your account on social media, you need to understand one thing. Your audience needs something to do! Most people won’t hit the follow button, comment on your post or even like it, if they are not directly asked to do so. What this means is, that you need to insert a “call to action” in your posts. This can be something simple as “Hit the Follow Button!”, or encouraging the audience to comment, to share the content with friends, or to visit your website if that is your goal. You can get great results with a simple Call to Action. This fact has shown itself more than enough times, so why don´t use it?

How to use a Call to Action

You might ask yourself, how should I use the Call to Action or where to put it? Maybe you only post pictures on platforms like Instagram or post videos without showing your face. This is not a problem. The Call to Action can be put into the description. Of course, it´s much better if you engage with your audience. If you record a video of yourself explaining something to your audience and at the end of the video use a keyphrase like “Follow for more”, “Share this post if you liked it”, “visit the link in my bio”, there are many ways to do so.

The important part is, that you include the Call to Action. To do this the right way, you need to have a goal first and direct your audience to that goal. It can be more Followers, more Website visits, more engagement, more sales, the CTA will need to be directed to that goal.

The best example are YouTube videos. In almost every single one you´ll find someone saying “Please subscribe” or “ring the bell to get notified”. If they are not saying it, then they show it at the end of the video with a big outro. On Facebook or Instagram, this isn´t really possible, since the platform works differently and the audience is different, but still, you get the point.

Break the invisible barrier between your brand and your audience with a great CTA! Smashing this barrier will make your brand more approachable and can make your audience feel way more comfortable interacting with your brand or your page.

One thing to keep in mind, don´t use the same Call to Action every time. You need to mix it up and keep it conversational. Your audience will be engaged and your reach will start to rise. Are you using a good CTA?

There are ways to know if you are using a good Call to Action or not. Because not every CTA is a good one. We see a lot of people failing this step because they don´t think it through. As a result, the Call to Action they implement in the post isn´t bringing the results they want to see.

So what exactly can you do, to make the most out of this step?

Here are few questions you need to ask yourself, before creating your Call to Action:

  1. Does the CTA sound natural and like your brand´s personality?
  2. Does this CTA align with the content you are posting?
  3. Will this CTA be easy for your audience to respond to?

If the answer to these questions is “Yes” then you are on the right track for a successful CTA! If the answer to these questions is “No”, then you´ll need to work on the Call-to-Action.

Summary

If you follow the steps that were mentioned in this post, your CTA´s will be much better and stronger and will have a big impact on your engagement, your follower count, and how well you are getting recognized in the search engine.

Instagram is a complex machine that needs a lot of work to get started with. Despite everyone saying the opposite. You need to stay on track and always search for new ways to improve. Keep in mind that an engaged audience is a good one by any means.

Use the CTA whenever you can and try to make it a bit different every time, so your audience isn´t getting bored or annoyed.

We hope, you´ve learned something new here, that you can implement into your IG posts!

Share this with your friends and everyone that you think might profit from this post.
